Security & data handling
Bank statements are some of the most sensitive documents people own. This page explains, step by step, what happens to yours when you use StatementToSheet.
What happens to your file
- 1Upload
Your browser sends the PDF over HTTPS (TLS) to our website, which passes it over HTTPS to our converter. Nothing is cached on the way.
- 2Conversion
The converter opens the PDF in memory, reads the transaction table and recomputes the balances. The file is never written to disk.
- 3Result
The transactions are sent back to your browser and shown on screen. Excel files are built on request from those rows and streamed straight to you.
- 4Afterwards
The PDF and the transactions are discarded from memory. We keep one record per conversion: the number of pages and rows, whether the balance check passed, and the time.
What we store
| Your PDF | Never stored |
| Transactions, descriptions, amounts | Never stored |
| Account or card numbers | Never stored |
| Pages and rows converted, balance check result, time | Stored, to apply plan limits |
| Email address | Only if you create an account |
No third-party AI
Statements are read by our own rule-based converter running on our own server. Your data is not sent to OpenAI, Anthropic, Google or any other AI provider, and it is never used to train models.
Infrastructure
The website runs on Cloudflare's network, which handles TLS and protects against abuse. The converter runs on a dedicated server that only accepts requests from our website, authenticated with a secret key.
