Convert a PDF invoice to Excel

Upload an invoice, receipt or quote. Every line item becomes a row with quantity, unit price, discount, VAT and line total, and we check that the lines add up to the total printed on the document.

What you get in the spreadsheet

One row per line item, with only the columns your document actually has:

ColumnRead from
DescriptionDescription, Item, Hizmet / Ürün, Açıklama. Descriptions that wrap onto two or three lines are joined into one cell.
QtyQty, Quantity, Miktar, Adet
Unit priceUnit price, Birim fiyat, Br. fiyat
Discount %Discount, İndirim
VAT %VAT, Tax, KDV
VAT amountVAT amount, KDV tutarı
Line totalAmount, Total, Toplam, Tutar

The invoice number and date go above the table in the Excel file, and the sum of the line totals goes below it. Numbers are stored as numbers, so you can total, filter or pivot them straight away. Both number styles work: 1,234.56 and 1.234,56.

How the total check works

After reading the rows we add up the line totals and look for that amount on the document. If it isn't printed as is, we add the VAT and look again, because many invoices show only a net subtotal and a gross total. When either matches, you see a green confirmation; when neither does, we tell you to check the rows before you use them.

We tested this on a Turkish e-invoice (11 lines, 2,288,000.00 TL net), a SaaS receipt in US dollars (17 lines, $114.70) and a 3-page quote with 100% discounted lines (30 lines). In all three the rows added up to the document's own total.

Which documents work

  • Invoices and e-invoices exported as PDF from accounting or billing software.
  • Receipts from online services (cloud, software subscriptions, marketplaces) that list usage or items in a table.
  • Quotes and estimates, including multi-page ones where the table continues on the next page.

PDFs exported from software work best. Scanned invoices are read with OCR first (up to 20 pages); the result is marked as read from a scan, and the total check tells you if a figure was misread. Documents up to 60 pages and 15 MB are accepted.

Is it free?

Yes, 5 pages a day are free with no account, shared with the bank statement converter. Paid plans are for people who convert many documents a month; see pricing.

What happens to my invoice?

It is read in memory and discarded as soon as the rows are returned. We don't store the PDF or its contents. Details are on the security page.

Bank statements instead?

For bank and credit card statements use the statement converter, which also checks every running balance and exports to QuickBooks (QBO). See how to convert a bank statement to Excel.
